Ronald P. Law, MD, MPH

Dr. Ronald “Ron” Law is an Adjunct Professor of the Department of Health Policy and Administration.

He acts as the Chief of the Preparedness Division of the Health Emergency Management Bureau of the Department of Health. He is responsible for policy development, program management, capacity building and research on disaster risk reduction and management for health (DRRM-H) to contribute to health disaster safety and resilience in the health sector.

Dr. Law obtained his medical degree from the UERM Memorial Medical Center, underwent clinical training at the University of the Philippines - Philippine General Hospital (UP-PGH) and earned his Masters in Public Health from the College of Public Health. Further, he attended a fellowship on Public Health and Emergency Management at Griffith University in Australia.

In his more than 8 years at the DOH, he was exposed to several trainings and learning exposures abroad and locally to hone his expertise in the field. Furthermore, he had gained significant disaster experiences by being part of the health response to major emergencies and disasters.

He has published and contributed to the development of technical products such as books, journals and articles in relation to disasters and health.

Before joining the government, he worked for 6 years in the private sector for health corporations in different capacities as medical specialist, administrator and operations manager.
