Doc Ai, as fondly called, is a graduate of BS Biology in UP Manila and took up Medicine in Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila. She pursued Residency training in Family and Community Medicine at the University of Santo Tomas Hospital and later became the Chief Resident of the department in her senior year. During her residency, she also served as an officer in the Philippine Academy of Family Physicians Residents Organization, and grabbed the National Champion Award during the Annual Clinico-Patholigic Conference along with her team. A year after graduating from residency, she became a Diplomate of PAFP. As a means of continuing medical education, she went to Singapore for Clinical Attachment and Training in Clinical Dermatology for Family Physicians in the National Skin Center.

Her interest in Occupational Health was roused when she was hired by Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation as company physician. Trying to get the best of clinical practice, occupational medicine and the academe, she pursued a career as Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health, CH, UP Manila.

In her years of practice, she had researches on hypertension, Shift work, Wellness programs, as well as articles and case analyses on rare clinical cases like Fahr’s syndrome and Pickwickian syndrome in relation to family dynamics.

On special occasions, she might grace you with a work of art, be it dancing, singing, playing musical instruments, painting, photography, fashion or even poetry.

She can find happiness in any situation. Her resilience may have been the product of being able to associate with people of different cultures and styles, across countries, universities and hospitals. No wonder she was chosen, after rigorous screening and training by the National Youth Commission,as Youth Ambassador to the Ship for Southeast Asian Youth Program.

On top of all her work and aspirations are two Fs: Faith and Family.
