Ms. Micaella Dato is currently a University Research Associate I at the Department. She is a BS Public Health graduate, and is currently taking her MS in Medical Anthropology from the UP College of Medicine.
She has undergone various trainings in the field of Medical
Microbiology foremost of which are the following: 2-month Research Training on Leptospirosis Diagnosis (2013) at Kyushu University and Chiba Institute of Science, Japan sponsored by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA); a 5-month Diploma in Medical Microbiology course (2015) at the Institute for Medical Research, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia sponsored by SEAMEO-TropMed where she was awarded as Best Student.
She has several research involvements in the field of Leptospirosis and antibacterial effects of local Philippine herbal extracts.
